Climate Change and SLR

Climate Change

Due to its high coastal population densities living and working at low elevations on sandy soils, Florida is almost uniquely sensitive to Sea Level Rise.  Numerous global climate change scenarios exist, as do various downscale models, resulting in a range of estimates.  The US Army CORP of Engineers estimates are the most widely-accepted across the region, although some regard them as low relative to the preponderance of current scientific opinion.

For this study, we used the University of Florida's spatial models of sea level rise.
